Our Officials

Please remember, this is a game and the officials making it possible are often kids. Treat the officials with respect and let them do their job.

Just like your child is learning the game of basketball, the referees are often in the process of learning to officiate the game. And just like your child isn't 100% shooting from the free throw line the officials are not going to get 100% of the calls correct. Missed or incorrect calls are part of the game and the behaviour you model for your child will go a long way to them understanding that.

East Perth Districts Basketball has some advice on how to be a good spectator:
1. Don't shout or yell criticisms at players
2. Remain in the spectator area
3. Let the Referee do their job
4. Keep your composure
5. Respect the coach
6. Do not argue with parents or players
7. Do not instruct players in games
8. Control your emotions
9. Be a good role model

Please be aware, poorly behaved spectators or parents may be required to leave the venue.
